I graduated back in April of 2007 with my bachelors degree in Marketing or what Chris Hooley refers to as “Mah-keting” (don’t punch my face for that…I gave you a link). Unfortunately, I had to take out student loans and when the rates increased in 20006 I had to consolidate my student loans with Direct Loans since I didn’t have enough in student loan debt to qualify for a consolidation through NextStudent.

Problems I’ve had with Direct Loans (Government):

1.) When I first consolidated they put my loans into immediate repayment while I was still in school full time. They knew I was in school full time but still put me into repayment?!? To resolve the issue I had to fill out a in-school deferment letter and send it in.

2.) After being placed into in-school deferment, Direct Loans for no apparent reason started charging me interested on my subsidized loan…WTF?!?!? Yet another call explaining I was in school and after an hour phone call got the issue resolved.

3.) Graduated in April 15th, 2007 and received a statement with a due date of July?!?!? I have a six month grace period on my student loans yet Direct Loans seems from April to July is six months, WTF! Another call to Direct Loans and this time I received a rude lady who told me I graduated in Feb?!?!? After arguing with her for over an hour I decided to say FU to Direct Loans and just start paying off my student loans now rather then filling out another form and making more calls to them.

This is a prime example of why the Federal Government should not be in complete charge of the financial aid industry. They suck, they hire worthless employees who don’t give a sh** and they only work M-F 8am - 5PM EST!

Here’s the first images from today’s helicopter crash in downtown Phoenix, AZ. Local news helicopters Channel 3 and News 15 collided in mid air.

Cloverfield

J.J. Abrams has signed on to do a new “TOP SECRET” movie for Paramount which is currently going under the name “Cloverfield”. So far the rumors state that a monster attacks NYC and the movie is filmed from the prospective of the people trying to escape the city during the attack. There is no confirmation of what the monster is, the studio is just referring to the monster as a parasite, but my hunch is that it’s Godzilla. I definitely recommend watching the trailer. It can be seen here.

I will be moving next week and I have started to clean out a lot of my crap. In doing so, I came across a butt load of receipts I saved for some reason or another and noticed a pattern in them.

Grocery Store, Bar, Bar, Convenient Store, Bar, Grocery Store, Bar, Bar, Fast Food, Grocery Store, Bar… and the list continues with mostly grocery store and bar receipts.

This got me thinking, “Holy Sh#t! Everything on these receipts includes purchasing liquor (except the fast food receipt). Am I an Alcoholic?!?”

First thing I said in my head was, “NO!” but then I thought, WOW that’s denial, which I believe is what every alcoholic says. Then I thought, “Should I chill out on the drinking?” “Do I need to seek help?”"Could I really be an Alcoholic?”

As I pondered this notion I grabbed a cold one and then came to my senses! “I’m German, Polish, Ukrainian and Czech!” I was made to fcukin’ drank this much.

Usually I drink only two nights a week but when I get out I go big. Lately however, I have noticed myself drinking about four nights out of the week. Think I may need to slow down cause all of my savings is going directly into my drinking fund, which the interest sucks on I must say!

How many nights a week do you consume alcohol?

I would really like to see what the average is.

wUrd!
