WTF! Yes, WTF! Sir. Joseph Whyte, a buddy of mine I met at SES NYC 2007, got hitched the other day to his lady Monika and the proposal was nutty. Joe decided to take out a 30 second TV spot to do a TV wedding proposal Rand Fiskin style. BALLLERRRRR!
Congratulations to Joe and Monika and I wish you two the best.
If you want to see how he did it, you can check our the wedding proposal and reaction here: TV WEDDING PROPOSAL.

As you may know I recently purchased my first home here in Phoenix and as I continue to get settled in I’ve started to notice all the things I need to purchase. One thing in particular I will need soon is a new mailbox and I’ve been thinking about getting one that’s not the norm.
In a single family home you will usually see a residential mailbox, small and discreet, unless the homeowner wants to be all fancy. But, what I want to get is an apartment mailbox so that I can mess with my my mailman. If I was able to score one of these commercial mailboxes I could always keep my mailman guessing. I would lock all the mailboxes except for one and then switch it a day or two later. I would continue to do this to keep my mailman always guessing.
Not only would this make great YouTube video of the mailman lapsed over time getting pissed, but having a cluster mailbox be act like a security measure also. Since commercial mailboxes are usually very large and made of metal, it would prevent me from becoming a victim of mailbox baseball which seems to be going on around my hood.

WRONG! Yeah, I thought a ceiling fan was just that, a ceiling fan but wow I was wrong. My mothers birthday was last weekend and as her gift my brothers and I purchased a Casablanca ceiling fan from Farreys.com. I thought she would be happy but wowzers not this happy. We delivered and installed the fan for her on Saturday and she would not stop talking about it. Even at dinner that’s night all she could talk about was that fan…I just don’t get it.
Last year we took her to New York City to celebrate her 60th birthday and I don’t think she talked about that as much as she did about this Casablanca fan. She did ask for this fan for her birthday because she had two in her previous home. Now I knew when she left her last home and couldn’t take the fans with her she was upset but I didn’t realize she was that upset. Turns out those fans were the only thing she really liked about the old huge house she had in Cave Creek on a golf course, haha. Those fans would be the last thing on my mind.
Anyways, if your looking for a good gift, especially for your mother, try looking for a ceiling fan. Never thought I would recommend that but dang, I think this is the happiest I’ve seen her in a long time.
