New Automotive Site - BETA

October 5th, 2008

I was moping around the house today and surfing the web when I stumbled upon a newer website that is like a consolidation between Car and Driver and Auto Trader. The website is DriverSide.com and is still in beta BUT it allows you to create a profile and list your car for sale for free, find the best mechanic in your area and see reviews on 2009 cars. The website also has a feature like KellyBlueBook.com which allows you to find out what your car is really worth.

It’s pretty funny that I happened to stumble onto this website because I’ve been trying to find some new mechanics in my area. The mechanic I have been going to for years wants to charge me $700 to change out my timing belt!?!?!? I may not know much about cars but what I do know is that is a ridiculous price to change a timing belt.

If you have car troubles, want to sell your whip or are in the market for a new car I’d recommend looking at this site.

Cabin Rental - Do You Need One?

October 1st, 2008

As I talked wrote about yesterday. I’m getting extremely excited about the upcoming snowboarding season. I’ve been thinking all day about where and when to rent my cabin(s) for the winter. After work today I looked around the internet for deals. Last year I had friends who knew people so we could rent through them, either their time shares or just contacts. Well, unfortunately we don’t have the hook up this season.

So, I was scouring the internets tonight and I found a place that offers vacation rentals and they so happen to have cabin rentals available. The website I found was HomeAway.com and they offer some pretty good deals. From looking over the website I noticed that that have over 118,000 places to rent from so they will more than likely have a cabin rental near a mountain or mountains (plural hopefully) I plan to visit this year.

If you are planning on hitting the slopes as much as me this year, check this place out and rent a cabin soon. Hotels are way to overrated!

Snowboarding Season Starts Soon!

September 30th, 2008

Blackcomb Mountain Whistler CanadaTomorrow is October 1st which means winter is closely approaching and that means…SNOWBOARDING SEASON STARTS SOON! Can you tell I’m excited?

Anyways, I love snowboarding and I am absolutely sick of the heat. Usually here in Phoenix the weather doesn’t cool down until the end of October but Denver isn’t too far away so it is time for me to find some cabin rentals.

Last year I went snowboarding quite a bid and my thirst for unpacked powder led me to Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler, Canada. We rented a sweet cabin and stayed for almost a week. The whole thing was surreal and one of the best trips I have ever been on. I may try to go up there again this season or check out some other spots like Tahoe or Jackson Hole.

Guess it all depends on whose getting what this year. Anyone know if this season is supposed to be good? Last year was a blast!

Sunday Bloody Sunday

September 28th, 2008

Sunday’s are my day to sit back for half the day, watch some football (Cardinals lost, DOH!) and then get my errands done. This is the day I like to get all of my shopping out of the way and I check the local newspaper, The Arizona Republic, for deals.

Well, today I decided to leave the primitive lifestyle behind and check online for deals instead . What I found was a website that has mucho coupons to tons of stores, woo! I was able to find savings on everything from Verizon Wireless coupons to Travelocity promotional codes. Not sure why it took me so long to go online instead of paying my $2.00 every Sunday but I’m glad I did.

Although, I still just like looking through the Sunday paper for deals I would recommend checking online. Seems like a no-brainer but I didn’t think of it till today.
